AboutWelcome to Reptiles by Andrew Hare. Here at Reptiles by Andrew Hare my goal is to consistently produce and provide my clients with exceptional examples of the few select species I work with. This is an incredibly rewarding hobby that has blessed me with invaluable experiences, lasting memories, and many friendships. Through this site and the animals I produce, I hope to allow others a better opportunity to experience what I have been so fortunate to obtain. I am based out of a suburb in the Kansas City area and if you know anything about Kansas and herps, you know there is a large diversity of reptiles in this portion of the country. This diversity and the relatively easy access to native reptiles played a large role in the development of my passion for herps from a very young age. The first reptile experience I can draw from memory was when I encountered an Ornate Box Turtle crossing through my grandparents yard. I was very young at the time and immediately ran inside and asked my grandmother for a plastic baggie. I then ran outside and placed the poor critter in the baggie (it hardly fit by the way). I then confidently strolled inside my Grandparents house to display my prize. For many years after that my grandfather would provide me with a Box Turtle every spring to maintain through the spring and summer months in my parents screened in porch. These are wonderful memories that I cherish to this day and these experiences were undoubtedly instrumental in my development for a passion in herpetology. I currently work with a variety of herps but Jungle Carpet Pythons are my primary focus. I believe there medium build, hardiness, and striking beauty make them a great choice for beginners and advanced reptile aficionados alike. In addition to working with reptiles and field-herping, I enjoy spending as much time as I can outdoors and being that I am a graduate from the University of Kansas with a degree in Environmental Sciences this is no surprise. I also enjoy good music, hunting, a cold beer, and spending time with friends and family. I hope you enjoy your visit and I look forward to the possibility of us doing business together in the future. |
